'Time For Africa' by local group Freshlyground and Columbian pop star Shakira, is the Official Anthem of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
"We couldn't be more excited," the group said of the announcement - and their collaboration with one of the world's leading pop stars.
The song is expected to hit the airwaves in the next few days, and will be available for download from 26 April.
The news comes as the South African band prepare for the release of their hotly anticipated fourth studio album on 3 May. 'Radio Africa' is set to follow in the footsteps of its hugely popular predecessors 'Nomvula' and 'Ma'Cheri'.
Shakira - who released her third English album 'She Wolf' last year - will be performing the song with Freshlyground at the official World Cup Kick Off concert on 10 June in Soweto.
